BATTLE BLOODTHIRSTY PIRATES, GAIN RICHES, SMUGGLE OPIUM... IF YOU DARE
Pirate Junk™, the browser-based adventure game, has been updated with battles,
more exciting scenarios and an improved user interface for Mac and PC players
San Jose, CA -- July 2004
The classic game, Taipan, developed an almost fanatic following, and is still
highly revered. Taipan's influence has been enjoyed by a growing fan base
in the online adventure game, Pirate Junk,
for two years. However, Pirate Junk has recently been improved upon, and now
sports battles at sea, warehouse cargo storage for opportunities to gain greater
wealth, new bank options, enhanced functionality and a more pleasing user interface.
Pirate Junk began as a browser-based adventure game that functioned optimally
using Internet Explorer on a Windows PC. It had a fantasy-action-adventure format,
featured rich graphics and a fun storyline set in the exotic 1860's on and
around the China Seas. Now, Pirate Junk 2.0, built and run entirely on Mac equipment
and servers, goes much further, with more ability to gain greater wealth, battles
at sea with up to five rogue ships, more scenarios, more fun, more images and better
functionality. And this new version is also available to Mac users! Any computer
with Internet access that uses Internet Explorer 5+ can fully enjoy all the features
and fun.
Pirate Junk 2.0 was developed by entrepreneur Stephen Oachs, owner of Pixelmation Internet Technologies. "We worked hard to bring this level of game play to the browser and so far it's been a huge success. The game play is exceptional
and challenging. It's really a new adventure every time. It's an intuitive
program with new scenarios added every chance we get."
Why the new version? Oachs explained, "One of the biggest requests we had was for
real-time interactive pirate battles. We couldn't resist the challenge. We've also incorporated historic regional research and period mythology to keep game play
completely entertaining...and somewhat educational as well. Word-of-mouth
was pretty good for version 1, but we are blown away by the response we're getting
for 2.0 - Pirate Junk is a classic game concept available on the Internet,
and we're very excited to offer it game lovers and pirate fans alike."
